A free election add-on to ENPS

AP has added a significant new addition to its powerful ENPS newsroom computing package: an integrated election module called ENPS Stats.

ENPS Stats allows stations to collate, view, display and publish election results directly from the ENPS desktop. Through a flexible interface to a variety of popular character generators, ENPS Stats allows easy output of election results in a variety of on-air formats such ad full-screen, lower-third, and squeezeback. Similar real-time views can be automatically published to station Web pages.

ENPS Stats monitors AP election wires for results and automatically updates vote totals sent to the producer control screen and the CG. It also allows for manual entry of results from the field -- even over standard dial-up lines, leveraging the unparalleled remote operation capability of ENPS.

Other key features:

• Allows producers to include race comments for viewing by anchors from studio desktops.
• Automatically exports race results to station Web sites via FTP on a pre-determined schedule.
• Builds races automatically from news wire data, making for easy election setup. -- Includes an integrated air control module for use by the election producer.
• Displays colored status indicators showing new results, new leader, and winner.
