Benefits and features of AP PrimeCuts
PrimeCuts
AP has launched the all-new PrimeCuts actuality service, now featuring more powerful searches, personal customization, a completely new look and new audio format options.
PrimeCuts is AP's online audio library of sound clips from the past 72 hours. Actualities, correspondent reports, natural sound, voicers, wraps -- you get all kinds of audio, covering news, sports, entertainment and more. We’ve made it faster, more user-friendly, and easier to find what you’re looking for.
PrimeCuts includes actualities, correspondent reports, and natural sound gathered by radio professionals, edited to radio’s production values and backed by the full newsgathering resources of The Associated Press.
If you’re pressed for time, you can skip searching and call up AP’s Top Picks with a single click. Every morning, AP editors select the most relevant audio clips and identify them as Top Picks, available early enough for morning drive.
PrimeCuts will also highlight Top Picks audio clips when they appear in your regular searches.

WHAT DO I NEED?
It’s easy — you just need an Internet connection and any standard computer and Web browser.
NEWSDESK INTEGRATION
PrimeCuts is tightly integrated with current versions of AP’s NewsDesk software. NewsDesk is an easy-to-use wire handler and script editor which brings together text and audio elements for the first time.
AP journalists and editors add audio links to many stories on the national wire. NewsDesk recognizes these links, and gives PrimeCuts subscribers one-click access to related audio for these stories. NewsDesk’s new PrimeServer can continuously download linked PrimeCuts audio right to your computer, so you’ll have it immediately available without having to retrieve cuts from the PrimeCuts site.
