Washington, D.C.  – Continuing its strategy of saving member stations production time and effort, AP Radio today announced the latest enhancements to its NewsDesk application. The new version, NewsDesk 4.1, offers seamless integration of AP's text and audio. The software upgrade features AP Prime Server and a built-in prompter. Prime Server is an automated audio download utility that works with AP's PrimeCuts actuality service, and automatically pulls all the day's audio directly to a radio station's server to simplify the audio retrieval process. The new prompter application allows users to scroll through AP's newswires on screen allowing for faster editing when needed. The new upgrade is free to all AP Radio members.
 
With more than 2,300 installations around the globe, AP NewsDesk has the largest installed base of any newsroom computer system. NewsDesk helps unify AP content and technology by displaying live links to PrimeCuts sound and GraphicsBank images in stories which have had multimedia content associated with them.
