AP’s Hamrick Heads National Press Club Board
Washington, D.C., – The Board of Governors and other officers of the National Press Club have elected Mark Hamrick, Associated Press Broadcast Business Editor, the chairman of the board. A 20-year veteran of the AP, Hamrick is the only broadcaster serving on the board.
“I'm thankful for the support of my colleagues and honored to serve this institution at a critical time in journalism” said Hamrick. “Between rapid changes in technology and the business environment and the demanding stories journalists have been covering in the past few years, the National Press Club has never been more relevant.”
The National Press Club recently opened a new all-digital broadcast facility at the historic National Press Building. The Broadcast Operations Center is fully equipped for reporters engaged in live remotes with their stations or for news sources conducting one-on-one interviews or media tours across the country or around the globe.
