More News /Talk Stations Add AP CustomNews for Web Content
WASHINGTON – KPTK in Seattle and KQV in Pittsburgh have joined the growing list of major market radio stations building multimedia sites using the AP CustomNews service. AP's CustomNews, the popular multimedia online content system, is a continually updated news and information service that replicates the design, structure and branding of a station’s Web site. It’s a turnkey solution for stations that want to retain the look and design of their own site, but also want text, photos, graphics, video, and special, produced interactive segments all provided by AP, at a fraction of the cost of hiring outside resources.
"Extending a station’s audience reach and branding to the web has never been more important than now, and never easier than with AP’s CustomNews” said AP Radio General Manager Thom Callahan. “With over 80 million Americans accessing news from the internet on a weekly basis, a compelling web presence is a critical growth strategy for any serious broadcaster today."
The two newest users join New York’s WINS (www.1010wins.com) and WOR (www.wor710.com), Los Angeles’ KFWB (www.kfwb.com), Dallas’ KLIF (www.big570.com), Boston’s WRKO (www.wrko.com) and Portland’s KXL (www.kxl.com) as just some of the major market stations using AP CustomNews for their websites.
