AP’s ENPS Exceeds 50,000 Users, 650 Newsrooms Worldwide

NAB, Las Vegas – Recent new agreements both in the US and around the world have fueled continued growth of AP’s news production software, ENPS. The award-winning service has grown market share to almost 50% of U.S. newsrooms and nearly 40% globally. Those newsrooms who have recently signed agreements include:

TVR, Romania’s Public Television, with newly built headquarters in Bucharest, signed with ENPS to expand the ENPS market share in Romania, which already includes ProTV and Antena 1/Antena 3. “We believe ENPS provides the right combination of stability and performance whilst remaining flexible for a range of integration partners,” said Constantin Constantinescu, TVR’s Director of Technology. “ENPS has a deserved reputation for supporting some of the most significant news production activities in the world and we want to tap into the AP’s expertise as we strive for a more efficient workflow and dynamic output”.

News Corporation, an established customer of ENPS, has now extended its commitment and will install ENPS for Serbia’s Fox TV, where it will integrate with Grass Valley’s Aurora, Edius and K2 as well as Harris Automation for the launch of the new Belgrade station.“The Group has had a very positive experience using ENPS at bTV over the years”, said Fox TV’s Managing Director, Dan Bates. “The ENPS system has proved utterly reliable while providing highly efficient integration across the newsroom - we had no hesitation turning to the AP again”.

In addition, the following global and US based news organizations have entered long term agreements with ENPS software:

Channel M, Manchester England-based TV station owned by The Manchester Evening News Group that managers numerous outlets including radio, newspaper and Web sites. The group already operates a convergent news gathering methodology and has added ENS technology to support its seamless multimedia news production workflow.

ATV, Jordan’s free-to-air stations will provide top quality news and entertainment programs to audiences throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf region.

CNBC Africa, sub-Saharan Africa’s first international business news channel. Based in Johannesburg, it signed a five-year contract with plans for future expansion.

Doordarshan, Broadcasting Corporation of India, has extended their use of ENPS from their main newsroom out to 12 regional hubs across India.

About AP’s  ENPS
Helping coordinate broadcast production -- from story assignments to live broadcasts -- in more than 500 newsrooms in 48 countries, ENPS was designed to meet rapidly evolving needs in modern television, radio and network environments. Powerful, easy-to-use features include the industry's only fully-integrated search engine, scripting, program line-ups, planning, contacts, messaging, news wire management, third-party device control, and off-line and remote access capabilities for field staff. ENPS also supports the AP-inspired MOS (Media Object Server) protocol, the industry standard for integration of media servers and editors, character generators, still store devices, and a variety of news production equipment and systems.
