WASHINGTON – Two Emmis-owned radio stations are the latest to add Associated Press Radio text and audio services for use on-air. New York’s WQCD-FM and WQHT-FM, are now licensed for the latest news and information from AP.
“AP really helped us in NYC to get the right coverage and helped me get the content we needed to be relevant to our listeners,” said Dan Halyburton, Senior Vice President and Market Manager of Emmis New York. “Any music station must have the ability to cover breaking news, whether it’s entertainment, current events or traditional news. Our listeners expect us to be there with multimedia information when they want it and AP helps us get it done.”
The Emmis stations will receive a portfolio of AP products including AP Radio News, Crisis Coverage, PrimeCuts, an actuality service, and Sound Bank, an archival collection of sound bites, as well as News Power text, and the new Online Video Network.
