AP names Lutzky Director of Product Development for AP Sports
WASHINGTON, D.C., – The Associated Press has appointed Michael Lutzky to the position of Director of Product Development for AP Sports. Lutzky, based in New York, is responsible for identifying, evaluating and developing new sports-related business opportunities including product launches, partnerships, licensing and expansion into new markets.
"Michael’s strategic thinking and media industry experience will be valuable as we work to grow AP's powerful sports brand,” said Global Director of AP Sports Products Jim Kathman, to whom Lutzky reports.
Before joining AP, Lutzky was an associate with McKinsey & Company, where he worked closely with top management teams in major corporations, governments and institutions to craft innovative strategies and change management initiatives for media, non-profit, telecom, consumer package goods and public sector clients. His work was consistently recognized by the National Press Photographers Association, the White House News Photographers Association and received several Pulitzer nominations.
Lutzky holds a master's in business degree from Dartmouth and a master's in fine arts in photojournalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
